[1] Good And Evil: Doing the good (善) with generosity (布施), compassion (慈悲) and wisdom (智慧) creates good karmas (善业), which begets happiness (乐). Doing the evil (恶) with attachment (贪), aversion (嗔) and delusion (痴) creates evil karmas (恶业), which begets suffering (苦).
[2] Three Karmas: The good and evil can be created by three means, called the three karmas (三业). Every intentional thought (意), word (口) and deed (身) creates mental, verbal and physical karma respectively, with the next greater in impact than the previous.
[3] Fruition: The fruition of a karma is a matter of time, eventually, sooner or later, be it instantly or gradually, if not mitigated or eliminated in time by creating the opposite karma.
[4] Dynamism: Our lives are determined by the law of karma, but they are as dynamic as we are in creating new karmas.
[5] No Fatalism: Since our karma is dynamic, according to what we do, there is nothing fated. However, it is possible to spiritually progress to become irreversibly good or pure.
[6] Much Evil Karmas: Although we also have some good karmas, we definitely have unimaginable much evil karmas created over many past lives, especially since we are still reborn here in this Dharma-Ending Age (末法时期), and continue to create more evil karmas in this present life. This is why we should continually practise repentance (忏悔) for spiritual purification.
[7] Separate And Collective Karmas: Our karmas can be created and experienced separately (别业) and/or collectively (共业), depending on that done individually and/or together respectively. Despite possible group pressure, we should never follow ignorant crowds to create evil karmas separately and/or collectively.
[8] Habitual Karmas: Our habitual karmas tend to become our weighty (i.e. heavy) karmas, which hint of the corresponding nature of our last karma likely to be created at the end of this life, if not changed in time for the better.
[9] Rebirth Proximate Karma: The nature of our very last karma created before taking rebirth determines the nature of where we will be reborn in.
[10] Pure Karmas: The most effective way to transcend the creating and alternating of good and evil karmas is to be sincerely mindful of Buddha’s name (Āmítuófó: 阿弥陀佛), which creates pure karmas (净业) to connect to him, for reaching his Pure Land (净土), where we will create only pure karmas, as we advance towards Buddhahoood (佛果) most swiftly.
