Six ‘Nosferatu (2024)’ Lessons

[1] Prayer: Be careful what you pray for, when there might be no deity listening, while the demonic might heed your call. The arbitrary one beseeched, especially for the impure, is unlikely to lead to the benevolent answering.

[2] Allure: Real or otherwise, the seduction of vampire lore lies in the s_x mixed with violence, pleasure with pain, that contradict and combine, which attracts and repulses at the same time. It represents the Three Poisons of greed, hatred and delusion.

[3] Evil: Evil comes from within AND beyond, compounding when the inner connects with the outer. However, tf there is no evil within, even when encountering evil without, it will be impossible to be ‘infected’.

[4] Possession: ‘Demonic spirits more easily obsess those whose lower animal functions dominate. Demons like them. They seek them out.’ As such, those who already possess much of the Three Poisons are more susceptible to possession.

[5] Plague: What is a real plague? Is it an external disease, an internal sickness, or both? In Buddhism, all physical ills necessarily karmically arise from spiritual ills of the Three Poisons, as the root causes, to be eradicated for salvation.

[6] Weakness: The ability now, to exert and fulfil greed (and lust) seems to be assertion of great power, but those who over consume with greed will be consumed by greed. That excessive which runs on unchecked will soon be proven to be too much.
