【主命大鬼王白释迦牟尼佛言】: 世尊，如是阎浮提男子女人，临命终时，神识惛昧，不辨善恶，乃至眼耳更无见闻，是诸眷属，当须设大供养，转读尊经，念佛菩萨名号。如是善缘，能令亡者，离诸恶道，诸魔鬼神，悉皆退散。
[Master Of Lives, the Great Ghost King to Śākyamuni Buddha said]: World-Honoured One, when such Jambudvīpa men and women, approach life’s end, with consciousnesses confused and obscured, not differentiating good from evil, and even with eyes and ears also without sight and hearing, all their family members, should set up great offerings [for the Triple Gem: 三宝], in turn read the honoured sūtras, recite Buddhas or Bodhisattvas’ names. Such good conditions, are able to enable the deceased to depart from all evil paths, and all demonic ghosts and gods to all retreat and disperse.
世尊，一切众生，临命终时，若得闻一佛名，一菩萨名，或大乘经典，一句一偈，我观如是辈人，除五无间杀害之罪，小小恶业，合堕恶趣者，寻即解脱。【注：信愿念佛者，即生极乐国。】
World-Honoured One, all sentient beings, when approaching life’s end, if attaining hearing of one Buddha’s name [such as Āmítuófó: 阿弥陀佛], one Bodhisattva’s name, or the Great Vehicle’s sūtras’ one line or one verse, I see such kinds of people, eliminating the transgressions of five uninterrupted killing and harming, and very minor evil karmas, that together would have led to fall into evil realms, to be immediately liberated [from them]. [Note: Those with Faith and Aspiration mindful of Āmítuófó will immediately be born in his Pure Land Of Ultimate Bliss.]
