18 Spiritual Lessons From ‘Trust Me: The False Prophet’

Faith

[1] True faith is cultivated with eyes opened wider and wider, while blind faith is with eyes closed smaller and smaller.
[2] True faith is able to stand questioning, while false claims cannot.
[3] True faith leads to more seen clearly, not discovering of more hidden mysteriously.

Obedience

[4] Perfect obedience is the ‘first law’ to potential hell, not necessarily heaven.
[5] Perfect obedience requires perfect understanding, not direct acceptance.
[6] Perfect obedience to truth will require disobedience to the dubious.

Claims

[7] Beware of those who claim to be the spokespersons of someone absent or silent.
[8] Beware of those who claim to be a special representative of the so-called holy.
[9] Beware of those who claim to be connected to the holy, yet unable to be reasonable.

Questioning

[10] Always question the questionable.
[11] That which cannot be questioned is already questionable.
[12] Not questioning the questionable is itself questionable.

Fundamentals

[13] Keep checking that your fundamental beliefs are fundamentally sound.
[14] Always assume you were born in lies, with the need to seek greater truths.
[15] Never mistaken fear for love, doubts for disobedience, questioning as ‘sin’.

Transgressions

[16] Spiritually corrupted ‘teachers’ will have the Five Desires (for wealth, sex, fame, food and sleep) in excess.
[17] They will break most, if not all of the Five Precepts (against killing, stealing, sexual misconduct, lying and intoxicants).
[18] Those extreme will indulge in s_x and resort to violence for their goals.
