汝等尚以缘心听法，此法亦缘，非得法性。
如人以手，指月示人，
彼人因指，当应看月。
若复观指，以为月体，
此人岂唯亡失月轮，亦亡其指。

You all, who are still with conditioned minds hearing the Dharma, with this ‘Dharma’ also conditioned, do not attain Dharma-nature. Like a person with a hand, pointing at the moon to guide another person, that person, because of the finger, should see the moon. If then looking at the finger, with it as the moon’s essence, this person not only loses the moon disc, also loses that finger.
