Even if spiritual perfection is not possible,
striving to be as close to perfection as possible
is still that worthiest to do.
The closer we get to spiritual perfection,
the better and purer we get,
for ourselves and others.
Each improvement
in each thought, word and deed
is worthier (and worthier) in itself.
But of course, spiritual perfection is possible,
as we can see the historical Buddha’s example,
of how he walked the path towards it.
And be inspired by his perfect compassion for all
and perfect wisdom about all,
as recorded in thousands of sūtras.
