Let none find fault with others; let none see the omissions and commissions of others. But let one see one’s own acts, done and undone.
The Buddha
(Dhammapada)
The poison pen writer
started with one letter
for the workplace.
Before continuing
with another,
and then another…
Eventually,
there were ‘dedicated’ letters
for slandering ‘everyone’ there.
Except one…
as if s/he was ‘perfect’,
‘free’ from every single fault.
The blindspot was
so glaringly obvious,
that all ‘knew’ who the writer was.
Those ‘guilty’ are
not surely so, as charged,
and those ‘innocent’ not surely so too.
Those who lack self-reflection should humbly and gratefully appreciate it when others offer reminders to reflect; instead of deflecting them away with anger.
