Question: If we cannot observe the Precepts perfectly, should we still commit to them?
Answer: Yes, or there will be no way to really improve ourselves. We should do our best to observe all Precepts committed to.
Being unenlightened, we cannot observe them perfectly yet, but we can do our best now, and keep doing better. This is the only way to progress towards the moral perfection of Buddhahood.
