得柔软食，当愿众生，
大悲所熏，心意柔软。
得粗涩食，当愿众生，
心无染著，绝世贪爱。

Attaining tender and soft food,
[reflect that] ‘May sentient beings,
[by] great compassion as permeated,
[have] minds that are gentle and supple.’
Attaining coarse and rough food,
[reflect that] ‘May sentient beings,
[have] minds without defiled attachments,
[having] severed worldly greedy attachments.’
