Question: Can we offer food (供养食物) after lunch?
Answer: Some might think that it is not appropriate to offer food to the Buddha (佛) and all Saṃgha (僧) members, as aspects of the Triple Gem (三宝) after lunch as they do not consume food after the midday meal (过午不食).
However, it is also alright to offer food at any time with any meal, including dinner, if you think in terms of the Buddhas and Saṃgha members in the universe in many other world systems with the appropriate time zones.
As offering of food is an excellent practice that expresses generosity and reverence, while creating much meritorious virtues, why ‘waste’ any meal taken with narrow-minded thinking of one time zone only?
