with ten cultivating are nine arriving
[as there will be much learning along the way].
[2] If learning without practising,
with ten without one arriving
[as there is no practising all the way].
[3] With practising and learning both complete,
with ten cultivating are ten arriving.
[4] Without practising and without learning,
with ten thousand without one arriving.
