Moral Bearings
If you lack a clear sense
of what is right and what is wrong,
you are likely to edge towards the wrong
sooner or later.
Victimisation
No one is really a victim of circumstances,
while everyone is really victimised
by wilfully taking the three poisons
of greed, hatred and delusion.
Repentance
The unrepentant
are karmically unforgiven,
with evil karmas’ bitter fruits
eventually forced to be eaten.
Re/alignment
Keep aligning to your Precepts’ Essence (戒体)
to prevent breaking of any precept.
Keep realigning to your Precepts’ Essence
to repent breaking of any precept.
Control
Always put out the ‘fires’
of broken precepts
with swift repentance
and turning over a new leaf —
lest the fires spread
to be harder and harder,
if not impossible to control,
destroying all in its wake.

若火之燎于原,
不可向迩,
其犹可扑灭?
— 盘庚
《尚书》
If there is a fire that is burning on the plain,
that cannot be gotten close to,
how can it still be swatted and extinguished?
— Pán Gēng
