Can One’s Bad Karmas Be Dedicated To Harm Another?

Question: We know that meritorious virtues (功德) or good karmas (善业) can be dedicated (回向) to others for their well-being, as blessings. Can ‘demeritorious vices’ or evil karmas (恶业), as the opposite of meritorious virtues, be ‘dedicated’ for their ‘ill-being’, as curses?

Answer: Thank goodness, this cannot be done, or the world will be extremely chaotic very quickly, with the very evil enthusiastically hurling plenty of curses to the good. The fact that only the good and pure can be dedicated, while the evil cannot be ‘transferred’ reminds us that goodness and purity are more powerful than evil.

Those who try to curse others, including by other supernormal means end up creating more evil karmas that sabotage themselves, eventually, if not immediately. If there are those who do get cursed, this is not due to ‘dedication of demeritorious vices’, but a reflection of their own past evil karmas bearing bitter fruits then.
