Twelve boats could sail to safety.
With many shoving to board,
and screaming that attracted enemies,
only two boats managed to sail off.
If all are for themselves only,
most if not all will perish.
If more are for one another,
most if not all will survive.
The selfish mind,
the heartless heart will kill us all,
The selfless heart,
the Bodhi Mind will save us all.
Without the Bodhi Mind,
there will be no Bodhisattvas
who become Buddhas,
the teachers of Arhats too.
