Live Without Cold Spots

镬汤无冷处。
The cauldron’s soup
is without cold spots.

— Zen Saying

If you are living as fully a you can, you will have no time to be bored [or unhappy]. There is not a single drop of cold water in a pot of boiling water.

It is said that a famous tea master always had a pot of water boiling so that he could receive anyone with the utmost hospitality when they called. Pour your whole heart and mind into every moment. This is what it means to have a pure heart.

Simply by living our lives, we are inevitably approaching death. That’s why you must immerse your pure heart into every moment. There is no time to wait until the boiling water has cooled. There is no time to idle away.
