Question: I recently forgot about my late parents’ death anniversaries. However, I have been daily practising repentance (on the behalf of all, including them) and mindfulness of Buddha, with dedication of merits to all. Is this alright?
Answer: Yes, that will do. Prayers during death anniversaries are actually more for remembrance, and those who do not offer any prayers on any other days of the year, as they are easier to remember dates. Practising daily is definitely much better than practising just a little once a year.
Those who missed death anniversary practices and feel guilty can begin doing more practice on more days of the year too, if not every day.
