当明中有暗，勿以暗相遇。
当暗中有明，勿以明相睹。
明暗各相对，比如前后步。

When in brightness within, there is darkness,
but do not with darkness meet it.
When in darkness within, there is brightness,
but do not with brightness see it.
Brightness and darkness are relative,
like front and back steps.

(Brightness refers to the visibly dualistic and relative.
Darkness refers to the unseen non-dualistic and absolute.
This reminds us to see relative harmony of the relative and absolute,
while not forgetting their differences in function.)
