The easiest way to carry food is to eat them.
The easiest way to carry drinks is to drink them.
The easiest way to use houses is to live in them.
The easiest way to move vehicles is to drive them.

The easiest way to know the Dharma is to learn it.
The easiest way to learn it is to learn and enquire from teachers.
The easiest way to learn and enquire from teachers is to attend classes.
The easiest way to attend classes is to be humble and sincere.
The easiest way to be humble and sincere is to remember only Buddhas need no teachers.

The easiest way to gather the Dharma is to listen mindfully.
The easiest way to listen mindfully is to contemplate how the Dharma is most precious.
The easiest way to contemplate the Dharma is review the Dharma learnt.
The easiest way to review the Dharma learnt is to internalise the Dharma.
The easiest way to internalise the Dharma is to externalise the Dharma by practice and sharing.

If even we as ordinary beings
express ourselves pridefully
in thought, word and deed,
how are we to become
great Bodhisattvas and perfect Buddhas?
