The law of karma affects all,
positively and negatively,
according to that done,
especially negatively for those
who think it does not affect them.
The girl had a short-sighted view of cause and effect.
Lollipops eaten now were the causes of happiness now.
Thus did she keep eating them,
without care for any long-term effect.
Too many lollipops meant unhappiness later too,
in terms of toothaches as effects,
as she did not brush her teeth at all,
which recurred even if she did not care.
Her Father tried to educate her,
but she neither paid attention nor believed.
Thus did she have one toothache after another,
without understanding why or preventing the next.
Why be the wilfully ignorant girl who suffers on?
Why be the negligent Father who did not educate better?
There are karmic effects for not heeding good advice well,
and karmic effects for not advising well when possible too.
The law of karma affects all,
positively and negatively,
according to that done,
especially positively for those
who know it does affect them.
