Mind Of Equanimity

Develop the mind of equilibrium.
You will always be getting praise and blame,
but do not let either affect the poise of the mind:
follow the calmness, the absence of pride.

~ The Buddha (Sutta Nipata)

  • 🙂
    though most of the time,
    the difficulty lies in
    the calmness is absent,
    while the pride is not.

    But then,
that’s probably why we have to keep practising. Practise may not make perfect, but at least it does takes us one step closer to being calm, or at least one step away from being troubled.

  • Yes, the quote is a good reminder to return to the Middle Path of equanimity, should we stray away.
