Because we foolishly allow ourselves to be controlled by our “self”. We wanted to protect this “self”. We wanted people to feel that this is a nice “self”. We wanted people to respect this “self”. May we all break free from this “self” which we mistakenly thought is our true “self”…but its real identity is the “karmic self”.
