Ten ‘Trigger’ed Thoughts

[1] Triggerability: Although the trigger might seem ‘easy’ to pull, with those squeezing them at will in the heat of the moment seemingly in control, those who are not easily triggered are the ones with true control.

[2] Gun Control: If all have full control already, guns would not be needed in first place, much less any gun control. Guns were created for control, including of those with much of the three poisons (i.e. greed, hatred and delusion). However, their creators have these poisons too.

[3] Poison Control: If the three poisons of people cannot always be controlled, guns must always be controlled.

[4] Neutrality: Guns are neither neutral nor good if in the hands of the triggerable, who can be almost anyone under extreme conditions.

[5] Ease:
The ease of trigger-happiness, when there is rage now, is equal to the ease of trigger-unhappiness, when there is remorse later.

[6] Relief: What replaces fleeting ‘relief’ for destroying another is lasting regret for destroying yourself along the way.

[7] Reformation: The best sentence for the guilty is not their direct destruction, but guidance for reformation to realise their mistakes, and remedial actions to make up for them. Since execution does not always lead to repentance, these must be done when living.

[8] Guiltiness: Who is guilty for gun violence? The supplier or the demander? The triggerer, the triggered, or the trigger? How about all, with each to some extent?

[9] Cycle: Is it easier to get more guns to protect from more guns, or to ban more guns while reconsidering existing guns? Which leads to a more vicious cycle of violence?

[10] Fear: Do more guns readily available offer more security or simply incite more fear? Will there be more mere killing or more actual saving? If the risks are still not clear now, they will become more clear, unless they are simply continually ignored…
