Nothin’ lasts forever,
And we both know hearts can change.
And it’s hard to hold a candle,
In the cold November rain.
November Rain
(Guns N’ Roses)
Nothing lasts forever,
with all else ‘fickle’,
except our Buddha-nature,
and Buddhahood attained.
A bouquet thrown at a wedding
celebrating for togetherness,
morphs into that dropped into a grave
grieving for separation.
But before November rain
was summer heat.
And after November rain
is winter cold.
And after winter
comes spring.
And after spring
again summer.
Rain’s moisture
is needed as much
as the sun’s warmth
is needed too.
After the darkest night,
still comes the crack of dawn,
though the sun will set,
once again gone.
Cycles are meaningless
if trapped within,
thus needing transcendence,
liberation.
So never mind the darkness,
We still can find a way.
‘Cause nothin’ lasts forever,
Even cold November rain.
