How To Improve Practice Of Going Vegan?

Question: I have been taking vegetarian food at least once a day, and all day on the 1st and 15th days of the lunar month, and on holy days. What do you think?

Answer: This is wonderful! For further practice, it should be noted that for Mahāyāna (大乘: Great Vehicle) Buddhists especially, going vegan is encouraged for all meals on the Six Purification Days (六斋日), on the 8th, 14th, 15th, 23rd, 29th and 30th days (with the 28th day too instead of the 30th day for smaller months [小月]).

It is even better if you go vegan for all meals for life. (Going veg only two days a month is a Chinese folk practice; not exactly a Buddhist one.)

Question: I intend to further progress gradually. What do you think?

Answer: Wonderful! However, it is good to have a fixed target too. For example, resolve to eat no more animals by the end of the week, month or year. As life is short and unpredictable, and if we already know going vegan is a good practice for the welfare of many sentient beings, why not go fully vegan as soon as possible?
