Question: When we encounter Buddhist temples with many images of Buddhas, Bodhisattvas and/or Arhats, should we prostrate to all of them?
Answer: There should at least be complete sets of prostrations before the central images in the main halls. If there are really too many other images, it is good to at least do a standing half-bow, or put your palms together respectfully when you see them . This should also be done if there are large crowds. If you have ample time and space to spare, it is good to bow before each one to express reverence, with humility and aspiration to learn the teachings they represent.
