Who am ‘I’?
Is it this form, feeling, perception,
intention, consciousness,
something or someone else?

‘I’ cannot be this form for sure,
for just as ‘I’ had another form younger,
and will have another form older,
this form does not endure at all.

‘I’ cannot be this feeling for sure,
for just as ‘I’ had another feeling before,
and will have another feeling after,
this feeling does not endure at all.

‘I’ cannot be this perception for sure,
for just as ‘I’ had another perception fall,
and will have another perception rise,
this perception does not endure at all.

‘I’ cannot be this intention for sure,
for just as ‘I’ had another intention gone,
and will have another intention come,
this intention does not endure at all.

‘I’ cannot be this consciousness for sure,
for just as ‘I’ had another consciousness ebb,
and will have another consciousness flow,
this consciousness does not endure at all.

Who am ‘I’ then?
‘I’ am change.
‘I’ am changing.
‘I’ am changing-ness.

Who should ‘I’ change to then?
Why not a Buddha, as ‘I’ have Buddha-nature,
the potential to become a Buddha,
to attain freedom from all mind and matter.

There is no better one to be,
than one perfect and dynamic,
with compassion and wisdom for one and all.
This is the peak of spiritual evolution.

  1. Yes there is no I and the five aggregates – form, feeling, perception, intention, consciousness. Every moment there are changing without an inherent existences. however the Buddha nature is truth all of us have it. we should open our heart and learn, listen and cultivate the Dharma and hopefully get liberated in this life or hereafter.
